Dental Care Information
Dental assessment and treatment procedures are an important component in your pet's overall health care. Bacteria in your pet's mouth forms plaque and tartar on their teeth. If not treated the tartar progresses to cause inflammation and/or infection of the gums, the ligaments that support and secure the teeth to the bone, and the bone itself. These conditions lead to pain in the mouth, difficulty eating and chewing, tooth loss, and other health concerns. Bacteria that cause tartar can get into the blood stream through the gum tissue. Once in the blood stream these bacteria may go to essential organs such as heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and the brain.

For these reasons we recommend staying aware of your pet's oral health, including dental care at home and routine professional dental assessments and treatments. Routine preventative dental treatments are imperative to preventing future dental problems in our animals, just like in us.
