Nikita - Veterinary Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator

I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2021 with a degree in Biology. During this time, I became certified and worked as an EMT for several years.

After trying a few different career paths out, I joined the animal care team at a local shelter, where I discovered my passion for animal medicine. After about a year, I transitioned into a veterinary assistant position within the shelter. This is where things finally clicked for me, and I can’t wait to grow and pursue a career in Vet Med!

I am happily married to my partner who I met through working as an EMT. We enjoy adventuring in nature, playing video games, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. We are the proud parents of two cats: Gigi (aka: Gooby, Goobus, Goob) and Ekko (aka: Stinky, Rat Man, Bucca di Beppo). 

I find being able to help animals incredibly fulfilling. I get to take part in the puzzle of treating a patient who can’t vocalize what’s wrong, while also giving lots of pets and affection. Win, win!

Random Fact: Although I love Minnesota with all my heart, I am allergic to the cold! Still worth it!
