Clinic Policies

Appointment Arrival Time

To provide adequate time for all exams and surgical procedures, we operate only by scheduled appointment. To help us minimize waiting times, please be sure to arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Patients that arrive more than 10 minutes late for their appointment may be asked to reschedule or to move to a drop off appointment.

If we are not notified in advance of a need to change or cancel an appointment, we will require that the exam fee be paid in advance for your pet’s next appointment.

Leashes & Carriers

For your pet’s safety and for the protection of others, all animals must arrive in an appropriate carrier or on a leash. If you have forgotten a leash or carrier, we are happy to supply you with a slip lead or a temporary carrier for your pet.

Payment Policy

Full payment is required at the time of service. We can accept all major Credit and Debit Cards as well as Cash. We do not accept checks.

We are also partnered with Scratch Pay Plan & CareCredit Credit Cards. These are third party partners that will require application and qualification to utilize these payment options.

Prescription Policies

We kindly ask that you allow us at least 24 hours to fulfill written prescriptions.

Third Party Pharmacy Policy

For your convenience, we have an online pharmacy that we utilize for any prescriptions that we do not carry in-clinic. This allows us to directly prescribe medications to be delivered directly to your home, typically at a lower cost.

We do not work directly with any external pharmacies including fax or phone communication. This is inclusive of online pharmacies as well as local brick and mortar pharmacies. Should you prefer to use any third-party pharmacy, we are happy to provide a written prescription which can be picked up from our office. We kindly ask that you allow us a minimum of 24 hours to fulfill written prescription requests.

Why don’t you work with Outside ‘Pharmacies’?

Chewy, Allivet, and 1800PetMeds are not actual pharmacies, they are online retailers. We have received several complaints regarding the use of these retailers which lead us to question the authenticity of their pet foods, medications, and the integrity of the prescription handling. We are committed to providing your pet with the best and safest medication, so we do not recommend purchasing medications from major online retailers.

In addition to our own concerns, the manufacturers cannot guarantee safe handling, appropriate storage, or that a product has not been tampered with when they are not obtained through a licensed veterinarian or pharmacies. For this reason, the manufacturers will only honor their medication guarantees when obtained through a licensed vet clinic or approved veterinary pharmacy. This manufacturer’s guarantee is essentially an “insurance policy” for you and your pet should any of the products fail or if your pet has a reaction to it.

When purchased through approved channels, many flea, tick, and heartworm manufacturers will cover 100% of all treatments should they become infected. These guarantees are voided when purchased through non-approved channels such as Chewy, Allivet, or 1800 PetMeds.

We are happy to answer any further questions you may have on this policy.
