Te’laya, Veterinary Assistant
I started my vet med career as a “runner” at an emergency clinic – primarily bringing pets in and out – during covid. Then I worked my way up to become a veterinary assistant. I’m currently in the Penn Foster program to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. I am on track to graduate within the next two years.
I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have a 6-year-old daughter named Athena. I also have 3 pets at home; a calico named Pebbles, a tuxedo named BamBam (he has the cutest mustache!), and an Australian Shepherd named Elsa.
I love veterinary medicine because I love being able to build a connection with every single pet I meet even if it’s only for a little bit of time. I also love being able to educate owners about the care their pet needs even through the tough times.
I love cartoons and horror movies. My all-time favorite cartoon is Courage the Cowardly Dog because it’s the perfect combination of the two.
My lifelong goal is to open an animal sanctuary/rescue.
