Dr. Amanda Mickelson, Medical Director

My name is Dr. Mickelson, and I am a Full Time Veterinarian and the Medical Director here at All Paws. I am a 2021 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Veterinary medicine is actually my second career. In 2007, I graduated from the Carlson School of Management, and I have over a decade of experience in business leadership from Target Corporation, mostly in the human healthcare side of the business. As a born & raised Minnesotan, I always had a strong passion & calling for animals and the people that love them. I am driven to make a difference for my patients, my clients, and the community. Whether it is your pet’s 1st, 5th or 50th visit, I am passionate about sharing knowledge to nurture and grow the special bond we share with our pets in all life stages. Areas of veterinary medicine that I particularly love include nutrition, dentistry, internal medicine, behavior, cardiology, and senior pet care. I am a fear-free certified provider with a soft spot for finicky felines. I truly love all patients as if they were my own!

In my personal time, I am an avid gardener and enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, listening to live music and checking out the local food scene. My husband Dan and I share our home with our two cats (Lily & Raymond) and lots of urban wildlife.

I truly believe being a veterinarian is the best job ever. Pets provide us with unconditional love and help us live in the moment. I love the deep ties that All Paws Animal Hospital has with the surrounding community and every day I make it my work to try and nurture that bond. A fun fact about me is that I grew up on a hobby farm. At one point we had 2 dogs, a flock of geese, 3 pigs, 2 rabbits and 27 cats! I have less now but love them all the more!
